Product Design and Prototyping, Chiba University

Sakamaki continues to teach a seven-session design course as a part-time lecturer at Chiba University.

His teaching draws on professional experience in product planning and design, connecting the development of ideas with making, testing and reflection.

In a Dentsu-ho article, he describes one teaching approach: students make prototypes before settling on a concept, then share their discoveries each week. A former student also introduces his teaching in a 2022 interview for Chiba University’s design graduate exhibition.
