MIKU STOMP

A compact guitar effect that makes Hatsune Miku sing in response to a single-note guitar performance. Sakamaki handled product planning for MIKU STOMP.

Its eVocaloid voice engine uses Yamaha’s NSX-1, with 11 selectable lyric patterns. It follows monophonic playing rather than converting full chords into vocals.

A dedicated iPhone app provided a way to enter original Japanese lyrics. Guitar notes advance the vocal performance, making the guitar an input device for a singing synthesizer as well as a source of sound.
