SOUND on SOUND

A portable recorder for building musical ideas through successive overdubs. Sakamaki handled product planning for SOUND on SOUND.

Each overdub is saved as a separate WAV file for later editing in a computer DAW. The number of overdubs and undo/redo operations depends on available memory-card capacity, rather than a fixed track count.

Loop recording and Sound Stretch support repeated takes and playback-speed changes without altering pitch. A stereo microphone, instrument inputs, rhythm patterns, effects and an internal speaker provide tools for capturing and developing ideas away from a studio.
