Maker Conference Tokyo: Maker Culture and Instruments

Panelist in Maker Conference Tokyo 2012’s discussion of DIY instruments and musical expression.

Held at Miraikan on 2 June 2012, the DIY Music session brought Sakamaki, representing KORG product planning, together with The Breadboard Band, KORG developer Tatsuya Takahashi, instrument maker beatnic.jp and artist So Kanno.

The programme connected homemade instruments, open-source hardware and digital fabrication with commercial instrument development, exploring the relationship between Maker culture and music.
