KAKEHASHI Project — US Delegation

Selected as one of five Japanese designers for the Japan Foundation’s KAKEHASHI delegation to the United States.

The programme visited New York and San Francisco from 27 April to 4 May 2014, combining visits to design institutions with exchanges with local creative professionals.

In his subsequent contribution to the Japan Foundation’s magazine, Sakamaki reflected on the commitment he encountered among American designers and his fellow delegates. He participated from the perspective of musical-instrument product planning, sharing his work and encountering practices in other fields.
