AutoVersion received the Sound & Recording Magazine Prize in the Art division of the 2002 original patch contest marking the publication of Trans Max Express. Created through Tadahiko Sakamaki’s undergraduate research at Chiba University, the software records everyday sounds and arranges them through automatic composition. The results appeared in the magazine’s May 2002 issue.
